Bathroom Art

My version of Bathroom Art. You know there are whole websites dedicated to the sale of fluffy toilet paintings? It's so silly I love it.

Todays work

I like what I've been making recently it's driven entirely by what I want. The idea right now is to produce more in a day then I consume. I made three embroidery pieces and two drawings today, and spent about 15 dollars. I think my out put was greater then my input for the day.

Sale!!!!!!!!

Don't make a splash 1 $

So This week I have decided to have a sale. My work is normally priced by how much time I spent on it and how important the piece is to me, but for the next 7 days some of my work will be sold at cost. So if I spent 1.00 on materials then you can have the piece for 1.00 plus shipping. I'm doing this because I think a lot about how I wish I had money to buy art that I love, and it would be awesome if some one asked how much I could afford to pay for a piece and gave it to me for that amount.

All my work is available for sale on Etsy

If there is a piece for sale that you truly love but is priced to high email me and we can talk about it.

recent activity

I have been working up a storm of random art work YAY! experiment w/embroidery The Rape of Europasketchbook Bunny

I'm still trying to find my place and my style but I really like the freedom of being out of school and not having a time line for a while.

So far untitled

what to call this one? by you.

once again matt was made to model for one of my paintings although he didn't know it at the time. Does any one else think it's weird that I use stair cases as much as I do? They just show up in every thing and I don't know why.

TURN AROUND! #1

TURN AROUND #1 by you.

A little taste of my senior thesis.

So in elementary school I took an animation class which was really this program that gave every one a little green alien and a variety of landscapes and clip art and you could tell him what to do. This is much cooler although it still looks like something made in the 90's by a 12 year old. It's a step up for me so it's cool. Next step, a tablet so I can draw for real.

soundproject

This was a strange experience for me but really cool. The process is fun and it's hard to start because it sounds dumb with only a few sounds and you don't know where to put them. sometimes I wanted to assign the sounds to keys on the keyboard so I could at least try to play them as notes. I think that would have made things too rigid though.

process project

Rules

Step one isolate all character introductions in the episode of Poirot entitled The Mysterious Affair at Styles.

Step two Isolate the same Character descriptions in the audio book of the same name.

Step 3 pair the audio with the visual.

By following this process I am highlighting the discrepancies that exist between the two mediums. We will be able to see the ways in which video can simplify the written word, where it may over simplify from the original text, and where creative choice on the part of a director can altar a story from the original.

New Media

I'm probably in the wrong mind set for this reading or maybe there is just a lot of terminology I'm not used to, but I feel like I didn't process this well.

What I did understand is that New media  is based in math and can be manipulated by an algorithm. After this I get lost. I don't really know what makes a media continuous but to covert it to digital the computer samples it and breaks it down into numbers?

New Media is made of regularized individual components which can be altered thru an automated process. like auto levels in photo shop. New media allows for an abundance of possibilities and stored Information which can be accessed and manipulated individually.

Collage

Ok so I'm not that good with illustrator so I'm sure I made a bunch of mistakes and I didn't understand a few things in the directions. The process is interesting I have trouble with having to think in steps and keeping track of what I did so that I can fix it when it's wrong. It's also strange recreating someone else's creative process.

Scanning

So my work for my senior show is based on the idea of the toy theater. The structure of the four theaters will be the same so I drew it once and am now scanning it. The image is a little too big so I will have to change some things with photoshop. With out computers I would have to illustrate four stages and have to start over if I need to resize something. ( I would go crazy)
